Can I Archive or Reuse My Files?

No. KeyboardTEK programming is licensed for the specific production and production dates associated with your order.

You may not archive, reuse, transfer, or share the programming for another production, remount, concert, cabaret, awards event, rehearsal process, or future use unless KeyboardTEK and the applicable licensing terms specifically allow it in writing.

Your Files Are Licensed for One Production

KeyboardTEK programming is licensed for the single production connected to your order.

The files may only be used for that production during the licensed production term.

They may not be used for:

  • A future production
  • A remount
  • An extension that has not been approved
  • Another school, theatre, or organization
  • A concert version
  • A cabaret
  • An awards performance
  • A rehearsal process for a different production
  • Any other event outside the licensed production

What Happens After Your Production Closes

After your production closes and your licensed term ends, the programming files must be deleted.

This includes copies stored on:

  • Performance computers
  • Backup computers
  • External drives
  • Cloud storage
  • Shared folders
  • Personal devices
  • School or theatre servers

Do not keep the files for future use unless KeyboardTEK has specifically authorized that in writing.

Can We Use the Files for a Remount or Extension?

A remount, extension, or additional production may require a separate license.

If your production dates change, or if your organization is remounting the same show later, contact KeyboardTEK Support before using the files again.

We may need to verify the updated license dates, confirm the licensing company’s approval, and determine whether a new order or extension is required.

Can We Use the Files for a Concert, Cabaret, or Awards Event?

No, not unless that use is specifically licensed and approved.

KeyboardTEK programming is tied to the licensed theatrical production for which it was ordered. A concert, cabaret, awards performance, school event, fundraiser, or excerpt performance may require separate permission from the licensing company and a separate KeyboardTEK license.

Contact the licensing company first if you are unsure whether your event is covered by your performance rights.

Why Files Are Watermarked

KeyboardTEK programming may be watermarked or otherwise secured.

Watermarking helps identify the production and order associated with the files and protects the intellectual property of the designers, programmers, rightsholders, and KeyboardTEK.

Unauthorized use, sharing, copying, or reuse of the files may violate your license terms.

What If We Need the Same Show Again?

If your organization is producing the same show again, place a new order or contact KeyboardTEK Support.

We can help confirm what is needed based on your new production dates, licensing company, and the products required for the new production.

Do not reuse files from a previous production unless KeyboardTEK has confirmed that the use is allowed.
