How License Verification Works

KeyboardTEK can only provide programming for productions that have the proper performance rights for the show.

Before programming is released, we verify that your organization has licensed the production through the appropriate licensing company.

Why License Verification Is Required

KeyboardTEK programming is licensed for use with your authorized production only.

Your organization must have the rights to perform the show before we can release programming files.

License verification protects the show’s rightsholders, the licensing company, the original designers and programmers, and your production.

How MTI North America Verification Works

If your production is licensed through MTI North America, MTI may provide your organization with an alphanumeric Access Code.

When you enter that Access Code on the KeyboardTEK show page, your organization information should populate automatically and your license can be verified through the MTI workflow.

The Access Code is provided by MTI, usually in your booking confirmation email. KeyboardTEK cannot provide the Access Code.

If you do not have the Access Code, you can still submit the order manually by uploading your performance license or asking KeyboardTEK to verify the license on your behalf.

How MTI Australasia and MTI Europe & Non-MTI Licensing Company Verification Works

MTI Australasia and MTI Europe do not use the same Access Code workflow as MTI North America.

If your production is licensed through MTI Australasia, MTI Europe, or a non-MTI licensing company, submit your order manually from the KeyboardTEK show page.

When placing your order, you can:

  • Upload a copy of your licensing agreement, or
  • Ask KeyboardTEK to verify the performance rights on your behalf.

After your order is submitted, KeyboardTEK reviews the license information and verifies the production before invoicing or releasing programming.

What You Can Upload

If you are uploading license documentation, please provide a document that clearly shows:

  • The name of the show
  • Your organization or production company name
  • The licensing company
  • The production dates
  • Confirmation that your organization has the right to perform the show

This may be a performance license, booking confirmation, contract, or other official documentation from the licensing company.

How Long Verification Takes

Manual license verification usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours.

Timing can depend on the licensing company, the clarity of the uploaded documentation, and whether we need to confirm details directly.

If your production is approaching rehearsal or performance and you are waiting on verification, contact KeyboardTEK Support with your order information.

What Happens After Verification

After your license is verified, KeyboardTEK will send an invoice with payment options.

Once the invoice is paid, you will either receive download links immediately or receive instructions explaining when your files will be available.

Most shows are available after payment. A small number of shows may be distributed closer to the production because of licensing restrictions, original designer agreements, or manual watermarking requirements.
